Polymer mechanics and calculations Manager

The Unit of Polymer Mechanics and Structural Calculations is responsible for advanced projects in the high added value and high technology content areas of activity. Eight engineers and technicians work together in this team to perceive, identify and respond to the needs expressed by clients. Our principal areas of expertise are:

 MECHANICAL CHARACTERIZATION

       Hyperelasticity
       Viscoelasticity
       Viscoplasticity

The LRCCP carries out mechanical characterization tests on highly deformable polymers (rubber and thermoplastic elastomers) and on rigid polymers. This characterization can be performed statichally or dynamically for different single axis and multi axis loads.

 FRACTURE UNDER UNIFORM LOAD

Determination of ultimate properties for single axis and multi axis loads
Tension and flection shock testing
 FATIGUE

Fatigue testing on sample or part
       Establishment of endurance curves

 DEVELOPMENT OF TEST BENCHES

The LRCCP is in a position to design and construct test benches for testing the function of a part

 CALCULATIONS

Numerical simulation is a major tool in the design, optimisation and validation of parts. The LRCCP possesses expertise in the dimensioning of parts comprising highly deformable or rigid polymer materials since 1996.
