The LRCCP is defined here as the Reference Laboratory for the rubber
industry. It performs most of the standard tests on rubber and plastic
materials, as well as on certain finished products, most often in
reference to international standards (ISO and EN).

PROGRAMS |

The LRCCP tests the conformity of
materials (rubbers and plastics) or of products (goods, parts)
with standards or specifications.
It is recognized or accredited by official bodies such as COFRAC
(French Committee for Accreditations), AFNOR, BNAE (Aeronautics
and Aerospace Standardization Bureau), IPSN (Institute of Nuclear
Protection and Safety), the Ministry of Labour, the European
Commission, as well as big buyers.
Examples of areas concerned: pipes and flexible hoses for
connecting gas equipment, welding pipes, qualification of rubbers
for aeronautic applications, reinforced rubber hoses for fire-fighting
service, condoms, etc.

STANDARD
CONTROL TESTS UPON REQUEST OR IN THE FRAMEWORK OF EXPERTISE

| Tests and measurements are carried
out simply with the aim of assisting industry in its own development
or manufacturing control, as well as helping with determining
the causes of defects.
But the expertise of the LRCCP can also be called on in cases
of litigation, for the purpose of amicable or judicial procedures.

MECHANICAL
APPROACH AND MODELLING OF ELASTOMER AGEING, ESTIMATION OF LIFETIME

| The study of the ageing of polymer
materials, for the purpose of predicting service life, ideally
requires a multidisciplinary approach: analysis of physico-chemical
mechanisms and measurement of changes in mechanical properties.
Thanks to progress with upstream work and standardization
on the subject, the LRCCP is progressively refining the protocols
of accelerated ageing, adapted to each problem posed, for
modelling and more reliable forecasting of long-term behaviour.

INTER-LABORATORY TESTING ON RUBBERS AND PLASTICS |
|
The LRCCP participates in inter-laboratory testing in the framework
of international standardization of test methods. It also regularly
organizes such tests or provides them on request, thereby contributing
to the quality assurance policy of rubber industry.

MATERIALS,
PRODUCTS AND REFERENCE MEASUREMENTS |
|
The LRCCP supplies most of the reference rubbers cited in ISO standard
for the evaluation of rubber /liquid interactions and for specific
measurements (Mooney viscosity, abrasion, Goodrich heat built-up,
hardness, etc.). It also provides a reference plastic for the
measurement of viscosity by capillary rheometry. The supply
of any other reference rubber or plastic can be studied on request.
In the case of hardness measurements, regular verification of the
reference samples supplied and the durometers, is suggested.
